I believe this has been looked into before, but the traffic on Canton st persists. This is an issue during rush hour only, but due to the opening of the 95 exit by Top Golf traffic is now spilling into residential areas on and adjacent to Canton St. The traffic has led to increased commute times for local residents during school drop-off times, as well as for school buses (some days it can be 20-30 minutes to progress from Adam’s street to Downey St.). Cars have also started traveling down Perry and/or Adam’s street into the weatherbee neighborhood to avoid the slowdowns. The town invested to combat similar issues with the construction of university ave. In this case, the issue would most likely be resolved with making Canton St. a non-cut through road as the vast majority is non-local traffic trying to access 128.
