There are no signs reinforcing the speed limit (heading towards 109) in this highly populated area. At any given day, there are young children, elderly, cyclists, and other pedestrians utilizing the sidewalk and shoulder. Many cars ignore the 25 MPH speed limit sign before Deerfield Ave, and cars often maintain 40 or faster MPH before slamming their brakes when they reach the intersection. In fact, if the traffic light is green, some cars have been observed to accelerate their speed in order to make it through the intersection. It is a very dangerous situation, especially given the sidewalk is not elevated and does not have a curb to separate the road from the walking path. Please advise on additional signage and/or speed monitoring board to curb speeding vehicles. This is especially dangerous with large speeding vehicles and at night.
